2017年12月現在、ミャンマー証券取引委員会（SECM : Securities and Exchange Commission of Myanmar）は6社に対して証券免許を付与している。

※追記：2020年7月現在、上記の6社からの変更は無い。

2013年7月31日に施行された証券取引法（Securities Exchange Law 2013）では、証券業を4つの事業ライセンス（引受、ディーリング、ブローカレッジ、投資アドバイザリー）に分類している。

引受ライセンスを最上位のフルライセンスとして位置付け、リスク性資産の保有の可能性も鑑み最低資本金として150億チャットを設定。このライセンス保有事業者には全ての証券業を行うことが出来るものとしている。

現在ある6社はいずれも引受ライセンスを保有する企業であり、現時点まで他のライセンス区分に基づく認可は行われてきていない。

追記：2020年7月現在、上記の区分のうち、投資アドバイザリーライセンスについて1社のみ認可を受けている企業がある。

1のKBZ Stirling Coleman Securitiesは、現地で最大の銀行であるKBZ銀行とシンガポールのブティックIBハウスのStirling Colemanとの合弁会社。

2のMyanmar Securities Exchange Centreは、ミャンマー政府傘下のミャンマー経済銀行（Myanma Economic Bank）と大和証券グループが各50％の資本を持つ合弁会社。

3のAYA Trust Securitiesは、大手財閥であるMax Myanmarグループの証券子会社。100％内国資本の証券会社。Max Myanmarグループは、銀行及び保険分野においても子会社を有している。

4のCB Securitiesは、三菱UFJ銀行が提携するCB銀行が属するKMAグループの証券部門。100％内国資本の証券会社。

5のKTZ Ruby Hill Securitiesは、タイの大手証券会社であるKTZと現地企業のLoi Heinグループの合弁会社。

6のAmara Investment Securitiesは、大手財閥のIGEグループの証券部門。100％内国資本の証券会社。IGEグループは銀行部門としてUnited Amara銀行を持つ。
